Hello all. Have been lurking, but not posted in awhile...

Is anyone familiar enough with Heteropoda davidbowie to have an idea of what their average lifespan is? Considering getting one as I've seen a lot for sale recently, but if it's got a shorter lifespan I might hold off. Have not seen any info regarding this.

Care tips would be great too.

About 2-3 years probably, like other huntsmen. For care you just need a standard arboreal enclosure with flat pieces of bark leaned against the back of the enclosure diagonally and some slightly moist substrate

I just purchased a sling as was told minimal water, literally a pinhead drop. Is that because of the size of the sling? This is my first true and dont want to kill it.TIA

I keep mine in a 5.5 oz deli cup with 1/3 an inch of moist coco fiber and a cork bark leaned against the side. It’s molted once so far and just started taking small crickets.

Well it would depend on how you want to give it water, best way IMO is to spray the sides of the enclosure so it can drink the water droplets. They're pretty hardy though so you shouldn't have too much of a problem
