How can I sterilize a chunk of cork bark?

I recieved my order today and in looking at it, I saw a
little webbing. Could be spiders or maybe mites of some
type, not sure, even just dust. It looks like it sat in a stack for a while.
I want to clean it to be safe.

Or maybe cook it on the BBQ. Not too hot though.

boil it or toss it in the microwave

just be careful about cooking it though. had friends thoroughly soak a piece of wood beforehand like you're supposed to do. they cooked it on VERY low heat and within a minute still, it started smoking madly.

so be very, very cautious.

200 F for 45 minutes.
