Hercules Baboon size 14''?

I read from some sources that a preserved H.Hercules specimen was 14''-15''! where on earth did they get these over-fabricated sizes from?!, and if so why is it not documented as the largest tarantula.

Anyone else heard of reports like this before?

Also what happened to the chicken spider that was another contender for the largest spider, not many new developments in the T.world. :wall:
-Edit- I see people are actually Keeping the Chicken Spider in captivity now.. haha only had to look at the post under mine to see that -DOH-

There was a male T apophysis that reached 13.2 inches but I don't know if the carcass is anywhere to be checked.

Like, someone here has a friend with a 12 inches P ornata. Pictures?
