So I have had a young Jerusalem cricket for about two months now it seems to be doing well. I'm concerned because the only thing that I have seen him take for food is grapes. I have offered many fruit, veggies, dog food, cat food, fish food, and live insects but it seems to have no interest in anything but grapes. He has molted once in the time I have had him and seems to be doing fine other then eating dose anyone have any advice?

i am no expert in potato bugs but i do love them and happen to keep them, the key to getting them to eat properly is roots like carrots or beets which in my experience all of my potato bugs have enjoyed greatly, I think this is because they eat roots in the wild. another good food is apples which do good especially incase your potato bug is dehydrated. they also eat smaller insects but personally ive only gotten mine to eat smaller meal worms. a varied diet is very important for potato bugs, hope this helps!

In addition to carrots and apples, mine liked pre-killed crickets and raw sweet potato slices.

That's weird, mine ate mostly protein based foods, most Stenopelmatus are omnivores with heavily carnivorous tendencies... If it likes grapes, keep feeding it grapes, but I'd keep offering dog food and freshly killed prey as well, (mealworms work nice), as protein is very important to them and mine barely touched the fruits and veggies I offered them... Are you sure what you have is a JC, and not a mole cricket or something?
