She should stuff her face into the water right away.
You would usually have your water dish full for that purposes,but doesnt look like it has the energy to go to the dish.
Secondary way is via food.
If this T pulls through,you'll need to change a lot of things about your enclosure.

She dipped in it for like a second and now she's just sorta standing over it with her legs on the edges of the dish

Ok I put some more water around her and she put her face in it for a few more seconds this time.

Good,that's what you want,you want her to keep drinking. Hopefully she will keep drinking until she becomes more active.
If she's seeming like she's becoming way more active,you'll need to buy a lot of substrate and do the re-design of your enclosure once she seems like she is in a good energy state to be able to be taken out of the enclosure without any issues.
I don't know about the sand you've been having,since i've never used it,but coco fiber/peat moss will work perfectly (and it's cheap and readily avaliable). Stuff that enclosure with a LOT of substrate and pack it down tightly,and make sure that the distance between the surface and the lid of the enclosure is no more than 1.5x the tarantula's legspan.
Keep the water dish full at all times and she should be way better with that setup.
Also,how often do you feed her?

Yeah,keep her book lungs out of water.
I wouldn't poke her anymore,just observe how she's doing.

I've had 3 slings die and none of them were ever on their backs and only one of them was in the "death curl"

The curly hair that died was clearly a mistake that I made when trying to put in it's enclose when dirt avalanched on top of it.
I think the P. Cambridgi's enclosure got to much sun. I have since moved all my T's to a different shelf... It took 2 weeks to die. That was the worst part.
The P. Irminia got out of it's enclosure and my younger sister dumped an entire jug of Home Defense on it... but I was off the hook because it was to small and not hair enough to be a tarantula... but it's description left little doubt to me.

I've learned a painful lesson from each and every death and take full responsibility for them.

And I love lizards but not the easy and cheap ones.

I'm super happy to see yours responding. Just make sure since she's got so much moisture around her now that it doesn't end up killing her.

If you wanted to do everything possible to keep it alive, changes should’ve been made long ago before it got to this point. I’d highly recommend you research how to keep this tarantula properly. I’m not trying to crap on you, and I’m sure you’re going to take it that way, but holy crap man... from everything I’m gathering and what I’m seeing, you haven’t the slightest clue what you’re doing. Please, in the meantime, use the search option in the boards to learn how to properly care for this species if it makes it. It’s pretty obvious you have done zero research. Best of luck dude.

Mistakes happen. In the future don’t hesitate to ask questions if you’re not sure about something. I’ve been keeping T’s for a while and still regularly search the boards for info.

not to be mean man but you should have atleast looked up how to care for a tarantula before buying it only time i see the corpses of dead feeders is usually in the sub standard care of pet shops. i hope if your t survives all this you really do a search here on how to properly care for your t

Nah I won't take it that way, it looks like she's going to pull through this but I'm not entirely sure. But if she does I'm gonna change everything. What do you suggest I do for starters?

She's not kneeling on her side anymore!

hmmm she moves around and dips her fangs into the water but her lungs are in it too, should I remove some water so that she doesn't drown?

If it was me. I personally would have just filled the dish with clean water. Then put its mouth over the dish. It will drink as much as it needs then step away when done.
