So should I tell her to never handle it or only every now and again
She needs to stop handling all together. If she can't or won't stop handling then I personally wouldn't buy another spider for her, to be brutally honest.

She needs to join here and read up, not you. She's old enough to prepare for a pet without you having to do all the work.

To be honest never, I have more than a few tarantulas (most of us do) and I NEVER handle them. I get enough satisfaction by watching them go about their business and the risk vs. reward of handling them for me is too high on the risk side. Their not great animals to handle.

There are some...invertebrates and things like reptiles that are more handleable, heavy bodied arachnids are not one of them though.

The poor spider is gonna be walking all over the the enclosure looking for a female. Last thing it needs right now is more stress and fatigue due to being handled.

Like others have mentioned, please make sure it always has clean water. He'll be drinking.

This!

And also make sure his environment is safe, meaning, the less space between the substrate and the top of the enclosure the better. I give my mature males 1x DLS (diagonal leg span) of vertical space or less.
Edit:
Sorry. I must've overlooked the second set of pictures... that breeder box is perfect! ;)
