good pics

it looks like she doesnt have a place to hide. she is eating fine but opening her vial disturbs her so she doesnt seem to settle in totally. she has no where to hide but the top of the lid. try puting a few more decorations for a nice little nook for her to feel dark and secure. or if you choose not to just dont disturb her for a week and see if she webs a hide.

Ok, i'll try to put other decorations inside. She doesn't really mind when i open the enclosure, she doesn't move from wherever she is in.

looks ok to me.

i wouldnt say you "need" to. its at a size where it gets the water it needs from humidity in the substrate. you may want to add a small water dish as she grows above 1.5".. other wise she seems to be happy with being on the lid. its a matter of where you like her so you can see her. you said she was eating just fine. i dont see a problem. but she may web the lid.. making it easy to disturb her when feeding but not a big issue.

Yup, she did web on the lid so i had to carefully open so i can attach the web to the side. She is now on the side since last night, i hope she webs the fake leaf part so it won't be hard to open the top. Also, i like the fact that she never bolts.

Oh and i am very happy that you finally got your new T. didnt realize you were the guy that got the DOA. Very sad story. i feel blessed to have so many. your story makes me realize this and appriciate my Spideys in a new light.

Yeah, that was me. It was really sad for me, it was supposed to be my 4th T but arrived dead, well I guess that's gonna prepare me for the future when my Ts would get old, at least the DOA was new and there's still no attached feeling for it. I'm happy for you that you have a lot to take care of, but for me, I think I'm staying with this number for a while. :)

Hey guys, i have anothe question to ask. Last time i said that i feed the lil guy by popping off the lid and putting the food there with her, the problem now is that she webbed the top and i can only open part of it so the web won't get ruined, the lat hatchlings stay in the substrate and the irminia is at the top, so she doesn't eat the lats. How else do i feed her?

My A.avic webs the top too. Every time I take the lid off I can hear the web tearing. Thats just the way it is. Just do it slowly and try to keep the web together the best you can.
Can you just drop a roach on its web? Also if its hungry enough it will probably leave its web and head down to hunt.

The tube web she made isn't that thick yet so if I drop the roach there it would just fall down. There are 2 roaches there in the enclosure now. So I should just leave it there and wait for the irminia to eat it?

Do you have tongs or tweezers? I use both. Makes it a little easier. If you have to ruin the web a bit, thats just the way it is. He will rebuild it. Dont worry about it.

With a setup like that your gonna bust a web or two or 100..

It's no big deal. You may wish to once it's a bit bigger make an enclosure that is upside down where the majority of the container is the top part for them to build webs and the lower is the lid.

I've done this with arboreal slings from hobby shots and they work well but make sure to get the ones with an inch or more of a lid, not those ones with like 1/4-1/2" lids.

Also semi pre-kill the roach a bit when you place it in. Use tongs to put it in a feeding cup and pinch up near the head to kinda daze it but yet not kill it and drop it in the web. Enough activity and if it want's to eat it will find it.

Prey on the bottom as well, if hungry, they will find -- don't worry :)
