How stupid I was,I dropped my smithi from my table like 3ft tall.
I was trying to take a picture of her when suddenly he dash and falls from the table..

her size was like near 4cm and i just dunno wat to do, I try to put her back to her enclosure but she ran like hell.
I had no choice but to put her in a bigger container like 5" x 3".
will she be okay?she is still running but i was afraid of internal bleeding or whatever.
i'm a beginner n lack of knowledge.god pls help her.

is there any chances of dying ??

4cm?? She will totally be fine most likely. Slings are more light, which makes them slow down more. Now if it was an adult, that would cause a serious problem, Has it gotten its colors yet? It should be fine. My 3in albopilosum fell 4ft, and she was totally fine. No injuries what so ever. Shes still alive, and that was 6 months ago and is 4in now ;)

Putting in her normal enclosure would be better, cause she is more used to those surroundings. She will be fine most likely!

What? Really? Are you sure?

I don't rightly know how big 4cm is.. Don't really feel like googling it either..

I had a .25" B. emilia.. I just got it.. I went to open the vial & dropped it & the spider.. Four hours later the spider had died..

I was rehoming my 2.5" B. albopilosum & it darted & fell 4 feet.. It lived.. Still living..

I had a 5" C. darlingi dart out of her enclosure.. Off the table.. Then hit the floor.. 3 foot drop.. She is still living..

Honestly.. I don't have a clue if the spider will live or not.. I can not say for sure..

All I know to ask is.. Is the spider leaking any fluid from any part of her?
If not.. Then only time will tell for internal damage.. Nothing you can do for internal damage.. Atleast none that I am aware of..

If there is some leakage from anywhere.. Put some liquid bandaid on it to stop the leaking.. Then just watch it..

Thats all I know to say..

Hope your critter is ok..

+1! If the spider is bleeding (clear liquid) then try and put it into a ICU. I dont know if that helps out slings, but its wort a try.

An ICU is a tub with moist paper towels.. So yes it is for her water supply.. Being that she is not dehydrated there is no need to put her in an ICU..
If there is no leaking.. All you can do is wait..

If there is internal damage she could die.. I am not saying she does or does not have internal damage.. I am just making you aware of the risk..

There is a 50/50 chance..

So again you have to play the waiting game..

If you want to put her back in her regular enclosure you can.. It will not hurt her any..
Just be sure to do it on the floor so there is no risk of her falling again..

BTW, she's not been eating for more than 2 weeks, may this lessen the risk?(coz the abdomen was small)

Tang, you are just going to have to wait it out, I really think she is going to be okay because he/she is so small still, and especially since he is not leaking. Could there be internal damage, sure, but I think the odds are in your favor. Keep us posted.

Tang, Yes, This would greatly increase the odds in the spider's favor imo. Just leave it alone for now and...... Good luck! :)

That would be no use at all.Do you know what an ICU is for?If you don't I'll tell you.An ICU is for spiders that are dehydrated. An ICU is not for spider that are leaking clear fluid.

Actually, when spiders are leaking this means that they are losing hemolymph(the clear fluid/tarantula version of blood). It's very difficult to recover from, as they need the fluid contained in the hemolymph to maintain hydraulic function. An icu can help an injured tarantula to replace vital fluid that it has lost due to leakage of hemolymph. A great deal of human blood volume is made up of water as well, which is why it helps to drink extra fluid when you've experienced significant blood loss.
