Sounds like its not able to clean itself which doesn't bode well for its life expectancy however I've cleaned mold before with a cotton bud and some alcohol in very small amounts, it kills/cleans most of the mould, don't use too much or you will damage the scorpions cuticle.
I know you said you were sure but my elder scorp used to poop on himself from time to time and I always thought is was fungus or mold. Is it white and very thin? If your tank is too wet and there is mold in there as well I would say just dry it out some and take the scorpion out and give him a little bath in slightly warm water. How one would do the bath part I do not know. :?
took morningstar's advice and moved him to a drier enclosure.
the stuff could be poop as you said since its hard to scrape off but just to be sure, i'll try the lamp and cotton bud cleaning. not really sure how to give the scorp a warm water bath.
I am sorry to ask again. Was there mold in the tank? If not I think the scorp just crawled through its own poop. Don't go nuts with changing its evvironment for too long if it has been doing good like you had it up till this point.
But I did think of a way to wash it. Put it in a container with paper towles in the bottom and use a spray bottle with warm water.
Can anyone say maist ICU?
