Could anyone who has had some experience with this species tell me a little bit about them? What they eat, housing, breeding. I did a google search and wasn't really able to find any good information. I went to Tennessee a couple months ago and these little guys were everywhere, they almost look tropical.

H. haydeniana is a west coaster. I'll bet what you found was Sigmoria or another "flat millipede" that is similar. Any pics?

I've kept a number of H. haydeniana for a couple of years now & die-off of adults is 100% this time of year, even when kept in cool, moist conditions. This time around I'm maintaining the enclosure sans 'pedes to see if babies will be produced. I consistently find them locally in mixed cedar/maple stands.

Here is the one I'm talking about, they were everywhere.

Here is a couple others I found in the same area, if you would like to ID them

Is #1 difficult to keep alive in captivity, I would like to collect some the next time I go down there.
