Hello,
i am thinking about getting the H.baviana but i cant find anything about what they need and i like to know this beforehand so i can decide if i get one.
I would like to know:
1. Needed site of the enclosure
2. Needed temperature
3. What food do they eat
4. What kind of ground they need
5.Shoul i keep parts of the enclosure moist or do they like dry terrain
6.Plants or other things so they can hide
If you have other tips for their care i am happy to hear them :).
Thanks in advance:))

I'm assuming like any other Harpactira:
Substrate choices: Coco fiber, peat moss, whatever. Like any other Tarantula.
Food: Like any other tarantula
Temperature: I keep mine between 20-25C.
Site of the enclosure? I do not understand the question

Keep substrate dry with a water dish
Deep substrate for burrowing
And also plenty of anchoring points on the surface if it so chooses to create a web-castle above the ground.
I personally do not keep live plants in my Harpactira enclosure.
Provide a hide/pre-made burrow.

I will say one thing: Your questions seem like you've never kept a Tarantula before ("What do they eat?" and similar). That being said, a Harpactira is NOT a good starting tarantula. Get a Brachypelma/Tliltocatl/Grammostola/Whatever new world terrestrial.
African Ts can be FAST,especially as slings, and combine their high venom potency with their speed, it's a potential disaster in the hands of a new keeper.

Hey thank you for your fast reply:), i already have one T i just want to be sure about everything they need before i get them.I tried to find bite reports about this species but havent found any. Do you know how their venom affects humans? As you said their venom is more potent. I only know about reports of the pterinochilus murinus/lugardi.And ,,site“ was a typo:) I meant size of course;) But from your info i have general picture about that:)

I would expect the venom of Harpactira to be a very similar pain cocktail to a Pterinochilus

i already have one T
You only have 1 tarantula and you're transitioning to OWs?! (assuming your 1st is a NW). I would suggest getting some more skittish NWs before you get an OW.
i cant find anything about what they need
Use the search function.(just search "Harpactira care" + Search titles only). Use advanced search when you're searching for sth specific. There are tons of information on care on the Harpactira genus already on the boards.

You might not be ware of this since you're new here (welcome!), but most of the times when you have a question you can search first - most likely there's a thread asking a similar if not the same question. (if you think the threads haven't explained it clearly or you have a new question, always feel free to ask.)

Moral of the story? Search before you ask.

I already figured it would be crickets but because i am not too long in the hobby i wanted to make sure that they dont prefer sth else:)

They're pretty easy, just like any other harpactira. Dry substrate with some depth, a water dish, something to burrow under, room temperature and feed them what you would any other tarantula. Mine likes crickets.
