Half male half female Poecilotheria subfusca

I saw this video a while back and figured it'd be cool to share. Specimen owned by Canada's very own Tarantula Canada.

Enjoy. I'm unsure on the exact species, but I think I read somewhere it was a subfusca.

Edit: it is a subfusca Highland / lowland mix. Which lead me to think the colors were just because of its hybridization, but TC seems certain it is a gynandromorph. Rest of the sac died. This is the sole survivor.

I've seen it posted before, pretty strange and Gynandromorphism appears in other animals as well. Most Of the tarantula pics Ive seen are pokies though.

I love that tarantula, it's absolutely gorgeous. Look up "gynandromorph parakeet" as well. Stunning specimen.

Reading the comments, TC believes it can not. There are other cases of this in Poecilotheria documented by the BTS.
@Anoplogaster they apparently kept this one and framed it. I wonder if I should ask for pictures...

I would doubt it, and doubt successfully... of course we wonder though...

Among the 3 juvenile P. ornata I got recently is one animal I can't really decide if it's male or female. It's 4.5", so the dorsal coloring should give a clear hint by now, but it's asymetrical - the left half has the strong pattern of a female and the right half has much less of that pattern and looks more male. I fleetingly thought of something like this, but was like "nah, that's crazy, that doesn't happen". Now I'm not so sure. Anyway, it may just be a strange coloring because it's a juvenile and it will look clearly male or female after the next molt. I will definitely have a very close look, though.

Unfortunately it's also very skittish, so I wasn't able to get a pic but I will be trying much harder after reading this.
