I've read so many different opinions on whether or not you can keep Desert Hairy Scorpions together. So can you house them together or will they end up eating each other? Does the size of the scorpions matter?

I have never seen anyone saying their communal...
I've heard that you can as long as they've got enough room/hides. I read that the main issue is that they can be cannibalistic if you don't feed them enough?

Any living creature is cannibalistic if it's not fed enough....
The problem with non-communal specie is that they will kill each other for territory and sometimes even for fun :angelic:...

I feel like you'd need a massive enclosure with tons of hides for this to even be remotely possible, and even then, I'd expect some cannibalism depending on how many are in there.

I only know of one individual that kept a successful communal of H. Arizonensis. Male/Female ratio, hides, space, feeding, etc all came into play. Even then it was a risk.

They are not a "communal" species. In fact, they have special skills that enable them to be an active predator of scorpions.

the only truly communal scorpions are buthidae and serradigitus

Heterometrus and pandinus never live together like that in the wild.

What special skills do they have exactly? I'm curious to know and didn't find anything from searching on the web.

Search on the boards, there's a whole thread I believe from two or three years ago.
