Ernie, how big is it? All the smaller H. mac's I've seen look dark brown like that, but usually have more black to them.

Nope not H.maculata, doesn't have the body build for it, probably some Pterinochilus sp.

I agree with the others, looks like a Pterinochilus species. It has way too much orange in it to be the H.maculata. Sorry, but just my opinion, I too want a H.maculata.

Nice picture that time, still doesn't quite look like the H.maculata that I have seen. Kinda resembles my Dodoma baboon,(I still could be wrong though)

Could you post a pic of it ?:)

I also don't think its a H.mac. But it would be nice to know what it is.

Thanks,
Ernie

Look for species Ceratogyrus meridionalis
looks like what you have.

1. That dotted pattern on the abdomen is a Pterinochilus thingy(zimbabwe grey was formerly Pterinochilus but was moved to Ceratogyrus).

2.Its, uhm, grey.

3. What the hell, im no taxonomist, good luck though ;).

Definitly not H. maculata (they got thickened femura on 4th legs)

Looks very much like a Pterinochilus I once had (pix on my site) , undescribed. But could very well be a colorform of P. murinus.

not H. maculata

Hi Ernie, It's a Dodoma Baboon (Pterinochilus sp.) These are being imported quite a bit right now from Tanzania.

Sorry Mr.T, but that is one of my spiders that usually stays in her burrow under two sticks that she has constructed. If she does come out she goes back when I get her cage down.
