I was searching for a pure gray T, and other than Calisoga sp (a true spider), and the ornamental Pokies and H. mac, I haven't found any T to be an all gray. blonde varieties tend to be yello or tan, but maybe I should be looking for something dusty white colored. any ideas? a wooly, smooth T in grey would be so cool, but the T hobby seems to be going to colorful sp.

Selenocosmia crassipes. My young adult female I had 6 years ago as my current 1 is only a young juvenile.

Chaetopelma species such as the Chaetopelma olivaceum tend to be grey in color and so is the Chaetopelma sp. egypt as well. They're around 3-4 inches as adults and are somewhat underrated due to their standard coloration but they are something worth noting to have in a collection.

Theraphosinae sp. Bolivia-Chapare; Honestly one you'd need to nudge Tarantula Canada or other breeders about them, I've not looked into them for a while, but from what I remember are a smaller species.

Price is low up here too, and definitely not popular, but I tend to come back and eyeball them a fair bit as far as grey Ts go. I don't know of a lot of folks working with them elsewhere.

This is probably way too obvious but Ceratogyrus darlingi is silvery grey except for the horn... right?

I think most of the dwarf Aphonopelma are a pretty dark grey, and there are loads of species. Microwilderness is breeding them and may have some for sale, if not now, then soon. I picked up some specimens from a gentleman here on the boards recently and my juvenile Aphonopelma parvum is a lovely shade of silver grey. I was only able to capture it well when she took a stroll onto my hand and refused to get off, but I don’t think that photo is allowed on AB, so I’ve attached one of her when I finally got her into her enclosure.

Calisoga are awesome :) I honestly would love one. I think Nate at Microwilderness will be trying to breed more of those, too.

Depending on the specimen, I’ve seen Ceratogyrus darlingi that are beautiful greyscale beasties with darker patterning, but other photos show them with a lovely cream color on some of the abdomen, so I’m not sure if that’s lighting, their actual coloration, or if it varies from specimen to specimen.

There's a few all grey Ts. I can't remember the species but I saw one a few days ago for sale. Grey, all grey.

Aphonopelma vorheisi is also a nice gray color, except maybe right after a molt. Also Chaetopelma as well, except the Chaetopelma olivaceum from Israel I have are almost black after a molt, but then fade to dark gray and then to light gray/gold sheen.

it's something I'm thinking about. I like many different T;s for different reasons. some I want just for the color, mostly I pick by behavior. I'm not fond of OW T's, esp Asian sp. lol. like keeping Pampho's they stressed me out esp at rehousing.

Grammostola porteri, anyone?

Dont know how common they are anymore. But there was a long time where you could pick up adult females for 25 bucks or less in any pet shop across the nation. very much a grey spider with a faint pink carapace.

The porteri I've seen all have a lovely mauve carapace and fine pinkish hairs on their legs over the grey. I don't think it is what OP is looking for.

I have both. Here is my juvenile G porteri female and a mature male G porteri I recently sent off for breeding. They're not exactly grey.
Look pretty grey to me.. Dont know of any species with more grey. Maybe some mature male Poecilotheria.

Ha! I mean, I think they're lovely. They're just not all grey. I don't think OP will be unhappy with them, but the carapace really takes it off the table if they're looking for a "pure grey tarantula" like they said.

OP won't see dwarf Aphonopelma much, but they are probably the greyest NW options I can think of.

I actually found a phone pic of when my young juvenile Selenocosmia crassipes arrived back in June last year. Probably around 5cm leg span.

Also another pic of the adult female I used to own.

She’s a beauty!!!

Most species in Selenocosmia and Phlogius have pretty similar grey colours, here's my Rubiseta female the other night. Males are light grey, females are dark grey after a molt and fade to a beautiful red-brown after some time
