You know, you sound like you're trying to apologize/rationalize your previous post but instead you keep piling on the insults. Waste of space? Food type? Maybe you should pick your words better, because those kinds of statements just sound snobbish to most people.

What makes grasshoppers "food types?" The fact that they themselves are not predators? The fact that they're related to crickets? I don't know of anyone who uses them as anything's staple diet.

Hell, I knew of and owned giant cockroaches as pets a good decade before I even heard of people using them as feeders. It's not that old or that common a practice outside the more hardcore end of the hobby. Hissers especially are more popular as pets/display animals.
there are more then a few that share my idea that they are feeders or can become feeders..no big deal!!!! and no, its not snobbish..its being real..hissers, mice, rats, lizards, mantids all equal a food source for something....variety mate..and the grasshopper not being a feeder ???i can name 20 people right now that i know for a fact use them when available for feeders? you have even probably bought en inverts from them...??soo im not sure of your logic??? yes lubber grasshoppers are cool to look at ok, and there are many species of roaches that make great display insects....but they make better feeders lol!thought you'd like that!! no! since arguing this is a no win situation..each has their own view but remember before you say what people say and think read some posts...people feed their inverts whats available........whether WC or CB later mate

I never said I had a problem with them as food or didn't think people used them, I'm just saying it's really rude to post in someone's thread about an animal to say it's "weird" to keep one just because you think of it as "food".

hissers, mice, rats, lizards, mantids all equal a food source for something
And tarantulas, and scorpions, and centipedes...everything on the planet is something else's prey, so like I said, there isn't any "food animal" classification.
