Grammostola rosea... yellow liquid...

i just got a new G. rosea today and it's been in a plastic container. i looked at it once and there was a pretty massive amount of think yellow fluid with whitish chunks in it. do they poop or vomit? i don't see any wounds on it so i dont think its ruptured or cut or bleeding. what could this be?

Is there any webbing under that yellow goop? I ask because that sounds like eggs being laid to me. T poo is normally white or varying shades of white/light brown.

Unless ofcourse you have a weird defination of massive ammount. Then it could be poo.

Yes and no, WC females can drop some eggs more often then you would think. But conditions are normally not good enough for them to do so and they are stressed, so they do weird things like lay eggs in the dirt. But we will no more when we get a picture!

it was in a clear plastic container and it was like maybe a teaspoonish of yellow chunky liquid. dumped it down the drain already. but it is a large female and i was not told it had mating if it had been. don't they put the eggs in an eggsac?

Yes they lay webbing first then the eggs then it gets wrapped up. If it was not mostly yellow then maybe it was indeed poo. And unless you got this T from someone and not a shop then there would be no way to know if she was mated or not because 99% of roseas in pet shops are wild caught where they could have mated. And in your case it sounded like eggs. Maybe in an unfinished sac or laid in the dirt.

In the future for questions like this a picture is going to do much more then any explanation.

yeah i just freaked and wanted to see if i saw any wounds. the pet store has had it for a long time before i bought it but i think they do try and breed them but i'm not sure. i'll have to ask the shop owner if they had tried to mate her recently. i'm guessing it was eggs over anything else because it was quite yellow and chunky. i don't know if eggs rolling around in a plastic container are hatchable or what not but for sure next time i'm scared i'll get a picture.

Is it possible to shine light through T eggs to see if they've been fertilized, maybe after a few days have passed to allow for a little development? I know this works with birds. If it were possible, then atleast fertilized eggs layed on bare plastic could be identified and artificially incubated.

If not laid in a sac your odds of getting them to make it are roughly 0.0001%
They need the first few weeks in the sac, they have to be massaged and rotated, they have to absorb that liquid. I have tried a few times to get them to make it when laid like that and its a total disaster. And there would not be any noticeable change other then the liquid absorbs ion, so the flashlight method I would think would not help at all.
