No, she's a grammostola grossa, not a rosea :) I never use a flash

And yes, lol, she attacks the tongs every time I'm in there...she'll try to drag them (and me) into her hide, crazy girl :D

edit: hmmm, I wonder what her common name is...ok found it: giant tawny red, or pampas tawny red. Don't know why that makes sense, there's nothing red about these creatures.

Yes, my girl does that too!! Man does she ever hold onto those things! I am quite surprised by her strength.

The spider from Cpt.nemO was clearly Acanthoscurria gomesiana which are common around Sao Paulo.

10 years too late to answer but hey, apparently photo-guessing never goes out of fashion.
