well i erm just went out into my garden and found 4 small about 1" centipedes under a large rock hehe i know their small and harmless but i think they are a ok starter pede lol. anyway i have handled them with no bites or pain just lots of tickling hehe. but it gives me somthing to do while i try to convince my mother that a "larger" pede isn't as bad as some people say.

{D my first pede are just normal garden centipedes yay{D

Ha, just keep buying different pedes that are bigger than the last and tell your mom that the ones you caught outside are just getting bigger:D .

You can keep garden centipedes? Interesting,as I recently have been taking up an interest in centipedes.

something interesting to consider about garden centipedes (lithobiomorpha)...
they are actually pretty long lived pets... from egg to mature could take as long as five years in some species. i had a CH baby that was still around 1cm when it was over a year old.

well these are quit big(1" or so) and they mutilate the crickets i put in the tubs. i crush the crickets heads to make it easier for them.
