I'm so happy! I've been wanting one for a really long time. Since I got my GBB a month ago I was certain I wanted one. I searched and searched and finally found a 5'' for a really great price! Will take pictures later on tonight! So how are these things temperment wise?

Congrats! Great T you got there!! I've had one for about a year and a half. My girl is fairly defensive but I don't mess with my T's much when I don't have to. I recently rehoused my girl because she had a male suiter coming. She had a much worse attitude than I remembered! However, she's been very receptive to the male and I've had a couple good pairings. I'd like to get one more before I send him on. The MM is pretty fiesty too.

They are a beautiful species. I just wish I got to see mine more often.

Do they like to burrow? If so then I have to make a new cage for her. :8o

They tend to. Congrats on the new addition! I'm hunting for some myself, but the last time I found some that were for sale, they were already sold. :(

My was a serious burrower. I had her for about 6 months, and she was basically a pet hole. She'd wait at the entrance to snatch food as it passed by.

Mine was definitely grouchy. She was pretty defensive and postured quite a bit. Tried to climb up my tongs once, too...hah

They are very pretty Ts. :)

I admit, tong climbers make me jumpy. o_o

I traded my E. murinus for a sweet B. emilia.

YES! Mine had a couple tunnel systems going to her burrow before I rehoused her. She hasn't been in her new house very long but has already altered the entrance to her half flower pot. It is a perfect circle of webbing and dirt curtains now. I'm sure it won't be long before she starts a new tunnel system. I can't even get her out for breeding but luckily the MM is able to coax her out.

I would definitely make sure her house is set up to give her the opportunity to burrow if she wants to so she doesn't get stressed. They are often heavy webbers too. Sometimes I wake up in the morning to find she's been redecorating all over her house with silk.

This species isn't the best for handling because they are very skittish. I'd worry more about it jumping and getting hurt. If you want to handle your T's stick to the good 'ol B smithi and keep her close to the ground or bed.

Enjoy your new T!

WOO! I made a nice home in a 5.5 Critter Cage. Used Eco Earth as the substrate. The whole brick made it about 4-5" deep. She is one happy Skeleton! Anyone in the Bradenton area should stop by to see her because this is the last time she is going to be here. My store is...

Mooooore substrate and don't do pinkies that often. Mammalian prey in a tank that wet is asking for mites and other nasties not to mention the debatable health risks of too much warm blooded prey. I think that substrate may be too wet even for this species.

You're on the right track though. That's a great looking T, skeletons are one of my faves.

Yeah, I realize it is very wet. :stab:. I have about 4" substrate in there (I'll put more once we get some more in stock at work) I just wanted to try a pinkie on him. If he doesn't want it I'll give it to my fire leg {D .
