The tank is 3 feet long, by 2 feet tall by 1 foot deep...what size of bulb should i be using to heat the hot side up to the appropriate temp? Also he has a little bump looks like a bubble in front of his eye...the guy who I traded to get it told me they go away as they get older is this true?

Hes really cute. I always thought Chameleons were supposed to be kept in mesh cages though? Is that not true?

It depends. But I have heard the same thing. You want heat and ventilation at the same time. UV heat source and mesh is the way to go. As far as the bump goes, that could be a number of things; parasite, tick, calcium defficiency, etc,.....

I suggest researching here:

And joining the forums:

That bump is not normal, you should take him to your herp vet with a fecal sample for a wellness check, at which time the vet can access the bump.
Limbs look good. I recommend using a Repti-sun 5.0 linear tube (no compacts for Chameleons!) I also recommend a basking spot of no warmer than 80 to 85 degrees for that age.
Good luck with him.
