Without the WC tarantulas, none of us would have T's. Therefore, by this logic, none of us should keep them.

I prefer captive bred, but wild caught isn't going away.

Whos denying your first sentence? We are promoting CB and condoning massive WC, thats the only thing we are saying.

WC should go away... Im very glad you think that way

No one is arguing that we should never have any WC spiders. But moderation is key. There are spiders in the hobby right now that only a handful have been removed from the wild from dedicated people, and with careful captive breeding are commonly available.

Importing thousands of WC G. rosea and Theraphosa sp. every year for the pet trade does nothing but damage eco systems, decimates wild populations, and cheapens the spiders. Making it not worth it, to breeders to spend time and money to breed, hatch, and raise hundreds of tiny slings.

But hey who wants to spend 6 or 7 years raising G. rosea sling to hopefully breed them one day when you can get adults on some reptile importers table for 5 bucks anyways.

Later, Tom
