golden red rump

Hi.

I have a B.smithi and a B.albop ( curly hair ).
the redknee is unsexed subadult and curly hair is 4 cm juvi.
Now because there are stereotypes with t's like my redknee is not the pet rock as she/he loves to keep on the move.. and my curly hair hides away but seems calm once it gets over kicking hair.
So what are the good and bad of the golden red rump as this is one I'm thinking for my 3rd t.
The albop I may handle but not the smithi .. so would the golden red rump be like the albop ?.. all info very welcome.

B albiceps, at least in the US. I'd say more like B smithi.

My b. albiceps was the most docile tarantula I ever owned. My smithi would always kick hairs but my albiceps never kicked 1 hair, easily pinch grab him too.

How much do these sell for? The only ones I've seem around me are like 1/4" for $125 and that just seems so ridiculous.

I find it hard to believe that a pet store would carry a species like that.

B.albiceps they are cheap over here... for a 1inche a breader is selling for £8

I believe it was changed from Brachypelma ruhnaui back to Brachypelma albiceps.

My girl is very mellow. Doesn't flick hair. She's pretty much a pet rock.

I would be so pumped if the local store here got something cool like that in. I have only seen G.rosea, A.seemani, Avic "avic" and an OBT once.

Another pet store a little ways away had a big B.smithi for almost 200$ and an A.moderatum for almost 100$

I hear stories about people buying female pokies at LPS, that would be so awesome.

She's my only B. albiceps, though I am looking after a subadult male on loan from a friend. So I can't tell you anything on growth rate since she was mature when I got her.

I don't handle, due to sensitivity to the urticating hairs, but she would probably be fine with it. She is very tolerant of being taken out for the occasional picture, or taking her measurements.

The male is fairly good natured as well, but he does flick a little bit. Temperament can vary between individual tarantulas. (I have a psycho Grammostola pulchra, for instance)

She's about 6" in legspan, which I believe is about the max size for the species.

Yes, my friend and I are just waiting for his male to mature so we can try to breed them.
