How many of you guys use that to hold in the moisture for your tank? have any of you guys had any problems with that stuff melting at all? Im also thinking of bumping up to a 75watt bulb, the 50 watt seems to keep the temp at around 77 and I would like to get it at 85.
Glad Cling wrap?

I made a little cover with cling wrap taped to a frame that covers my terrarium. I have it with a small opening (it doesn't cover the ENTIRE terrarium, but close to it), the light isn't actually over the cling wrap but it just gets warm, has never melted. As long as it isn't super close to the bulb or touching the bulb you'll be fine.

Try tin foil instead. It insulates both heat and moisture.

I just taped tinfoil to my lid with a 1/4 inch gap for air flow yesterday and I noticed a difference right away. Condensation on glass and when I remove the lid and put my hand in I can feel the humidity and I don't even have my lamp on, I use a small under aquarium heating pad with cardboard covering the bottom of the aquarium over it to prevent cooking(hopefully).
So yah Im not sure how good the plastic wrap works but tin foil works very well.

They can be had at most major home supply stores (Lowes, Home Depot, etc). Most will cut to your specifications for free. I had a plexiglass sheet cut into several pieces as dividers and tank-covers...the sheet cost $20-30.
The plexiglass sits 9" below a 100W bulb (albiet w/ a dimmer) with no warping, discoloration or anything.

I might just go with the glad presseal with a hole cut into it to place my heatlamp directly onto the top. Thats how I have my heating setup as it stand. A friend of mine has his hermit crabs enclosed with that, using hockey tape, to tape it off....doenst look to bad and works quite well from what I hear.
