Giant house spider – fertilized eggs question

Hi guys, I have a giant house spider that has made 2 egg sacs within the last 30 days. I can see the initial sling now is developing "eggs with legs" (I believe that's the correct term). Does this mean that the second sling is unfertilized, or will they both be fertlized? We have only had her in her enclosure for just under a month, so no spidey sex between the first and second sling :D

They'll both be fertilised. And I'd be surprised if she only stops at 2 sacs.

Oh wow, do you know how long she "stays" fertilized for? Also – was reading up on GHS identification vs Hobo Spiders. Seems like there is more than 1% of her eggs developing legs, perhaps closer to 5%. Got worried and took some aerial shots and of her sternum... Do you know if this is a GHS or hobo?

Looks like our UK house spider (Eratigena atrica). I bring them into captivity now and again. They usually lay 3 or 4 eggsacs or mine did. Maybe because of the extra food or maybe they just lay that many anyway.

Once the eggsacs had hatched I just left the lid open so the babies ciukd disperse when they wanted to.

I see! So those 3–4 egg sacs are ALL fertilized just from one mating session?

I also kept a E atrica a couple years ago, which laid a viable egg sac. Released mum in the shed a few weeks later before she could get busy making more 😂
