I ORDERED an A. purpurea from Art at Midwest! Sadly, he emailed to inform me last week that it didn't survive its last molt... so he's keeping my credit for a future shipment.

I plan on ordering a few others so I have plenty of patience, but the A. purp is DEFINITELY on my list.

I've found them at very reasonable prices on eBay. Try a search for them there in the beanie babies area
