Hello, I am going to be getting a Togo Starburst, among others in my next order. I was wondering what the general humidity requirements for the starburst is, and if there is a trick to feeding arboreals. Do you have to put the crix, etc., on the branch, or do they just come down and get them? I really need to know the humidity requirements. Oh, it will be about 4 inches when I get it. Also, is $50 Canadian a good price? How about $40 for a 1 inch suntiger? Thanks, please reply ;P

Good choice on the togo..they're an amazing T. We got ours for $29.99 Canadian...it was 2 1/2" when we got it, so I would say $50 for a 4" is not a bad price....although I don't think I would spend $40 for a 1"..but thats just me! Anyway..good luck with the new T.

I feed my arboreals just like a terrestrial and have had no problems. Keep the humidity much as you would with an Avic. give adequate ventilation

I have never had an arboreal an im getting an P.Ornata soon and thinking of getting an H.Maculata as well. I guess some people just arent to concerned about their "records" :) Or maybe were just nuts :? :D

Id rather have a great looking and dangerous arboreal T instead of a docile and (my opinion only) not so good looking arboreal T :)

I have had pinktoes and other NW arboreals, but I heard that H maculata doesnt spin as much web as A. avic and such, because I always used to put crix inside the web of the NW species. I have had many OW species and feel confident(or crazy) enough to get the maculata. I would like to get a suntiger as well, but 40 bucks canadian for a 1 inch sling seems a little steep, anybody agree? Anyways, keep this topic bumped and opinions coming!;P

Well I for one would not pay 40$ for an suntiger but then again suntigers arent really a T I like that much :) But I guess it's up to one self to decide how much a T is worth cus if one wants one bad enough I think that money isnt an object in most cases (But some are just to money minded to get what they really want) :)

My H. maculata webs up a LOT more than any Pinktoe I've seen. She literally fills up her entire cage with web when it comes time to molt. I may just have a unique individual, but I have heard similar occurences with others.

I keep my H. maculata at 80f and around 75% humidity and she has done just fine.

As for feeding the mac you shouldn't need any special technique as with all arboreals. They are active hunters (when you aren't looking ;)) and not much has a chance of surviving in the home of a hungry mac!

I'd say it's kind of steep, but for a local pet store it's probably about average.

Oops, I missed the 'Canadian' part. I'm sure how much $45 is in canadian versus american. :?

If you're talking about the 1 inchers at swiftinverts.com I think it is a very good price. And no one is better to buy from and takes more care in making sure they make it to you in great condition than Swifty.

I am actually ordering from a dealer, pretty much the only guy in Canada:

One 4" H. Maculata=$50
Two 1/2" A. Avicularia=$10 ea.
Two 1" Curly Hair=$10 ea.
Two 1/4" A. seemani=$5 ea.
One 2" Curly Hair=$20

Six Med. Vials=$1 ea.

I want the regalis, but I may not have enough money.

Yes, this guy is VERY good, it is overnight guaranteed live arrival. If it comes dead(2%, even in winter) He replaces straight away, with no cost to you. He has the largest selection in canada

I wouldn't skip out on the regalis, but I'm a little biased here, I have 4 of them. They just don't get much prettier than these guys, and not to mention just how amazing they are in every way.

O.K., I think I will switch out the 2" Curly Hair for the Regalis, does this sound good? Do they have any color when they are 3/4 to 1 inch in length?

I think they are among the cutest spiderlings on the planet :D
They are a little more gray than white/black, but you won't have to wait long for it to start looking beautiful since regalis is one of the fastest growers out there. A well fed regalis will molt every 20-30 days until it reaches 5 inches ;)
