I got a pulchra as my first spider and couldn't be happier. It's always fun to watch it eat and it never refuses a meal.

Being as this is your first T, and you've expressed the desire of learning to freehandle, may I make a simple suggestion?

If you want something you can learn to freehandle, I'd also pick up an Avic avic juvie or adult in addition to your G. pulchra sling. They are practically built to be freehandled, have an extremely chill disposition, and can take a short fall (unlike terrestrials). I should also mention the cheap price-tag!!!! Avic avic is your best bet for a learner species, as your G. pulchra sling grows out.

Remember, most T's can be freehandled so long as you are confident and comfortable working with your spiders. Arboreals, despite the extreme aversion to human skin, make the best handlers due to their climbing attributes. You should have alot of fun with freehandling an Avic, as there is little to worry about.

Good luck, and enjoy!!!
