Mums male G. pulchra seems to be trying to get out, at the moment he is scrapping his fangs against the glass lid, to the point the grinding makes me cringe, and has tried going through the mesh at the back of the tank. This has only started since his latest moult, and particularly since we moved his tank. He is not mature yet.

The tank was previuosly a blondi tank but was thoroughly scrubbed, hosed with cold water then scrubbed with hot and soapy water, then rinsed and dried. The substrate is the same and as far as i know the heat is the same.

Any ideas on what we should do?

We are going on holiday for a week leaving and we don't want him getting out while we are gone.

A glass lid? I doubt he is going to get out of that. I think hes just adjusting to his new tank. They tend to wander and explore a bit when you rehouse them like that. As long as that lid does not push off easily, and there is no mesh screen he can chew through you should be fine leaving him for a few days.
