Fun with timber rattlesnakes

Unreal! I have only seen one timber in the wild. There are only a few localized populations left in Indiana. You radio track the snakes?

Nope, no radio tracking on these.
I have located both the den and the rookery sites for this population so I have been able to literally follow the adults for a long time. Based on my photos I can identify most of them visually.

That's awesome. Protect these snakes like gold @ Ft. Knox, don't tell a soul where they are.

In NJ they are as rare as they come, luckily I know of about 3 secret dense in the surrounding region and numerous great herping sites. None of which are known but to a handful of dedicated herpers and state biologists.
