They're about 3 or 4mm. Momma was no where to be found.

I'm not really sure what they are. I doubt they're aphonopelma. They weren't anywhere near a burrow or anything. Actually, now that I'm looking at a ruler...they were more like 3 or 4mm. I know, I should've put a scale next to them. Next time I go hiking I'm bringing a ruler. I thought they were ants at first, but then I looked closer and they were spiderlings!

They are not Aphonopelma...those have a big black spot on the abodomen, where the urticating hairs are.

But, where are you from? where did you see these? that could help...

They do look like "true" spiders based on the carapace shape and eye arrangement.

I was thinking the same thing Jeff. I heard Kukulcanias live up to 10 years. I should've kept a couple slings and see if it was true :)
