Thank you, well said...(I personally do not care for the species, but I am happy for you!!) I KNOW THE FEELING when you get your DREAM T and someone STOMPS all over YOUR VERY OWN PERSONAL HAPPINESS,because you've worked for it. I THOUGHT that's what this forum WAS about, sharing and being happy for our fellow T colllectors, whatever kind it may be. You go ahead and be happy and love it. You can even sit up in the dark with a flashlight and peek at it at night. (that's what I do)
ENJOY...

Wow, fangsalot was only trying to share his/her excitement for a new spider. You guys can be awfully harsh sometimes :embarrassed: .
I won't be investing in a P. metallica anytime soon (I'd much rather in invest in several slings of species I'd enjoy just as much/more), but to each their won. I'm not going to trash fangsalot's taste.

I have four 1" slings and a 5" female and I love them all.

 , for the price those go for I hope you married them lol{D

Are you going to breed the female? That would make some nice pocket change:drool:

I was wondering, how many years has the gooty been in the hobby?

Honestly, no.

P. Mettlica is nice but for the price I could get some very beautiful tarantulas. Think about it if it dies you are out some $$$. Congrats on the new addition. But you may find that they are not as popular as you might think.

For me it is just too pricely and not really that beautiful
ROWR!

Congrats on getting something YOU like, YOU appreciate, and makes YOU happy.
At a price YOU felt was acceptable...Sheesh.
You know you might they 'arent as popular' as you might think, bu then again life isnt about what people think of what makes YOU happy.
Me personally, I am happy for you, in terms of YOU getting what YOU wanted..
Enjoy the hobby how you like it

I'm going to as soon as she matures. She's in premolt right now but, as soon as she molts and starts to feed again she'll be ready.

Congrats on the addition. I was pretty excited when I got mine and can't wait for it to get past the sling stage. In my opinion, they are worth the price. Beautiful T. I wouldn't hesitate to get another, I just don't have the space.

Hell Yeah!!

I just got myself 2 Gooty Saphire's and I am totally PSYCHED!!

I paid $200 each for unsexed 1" slings from Tarantula Canada. Cheapest place and only in Canada to be selling them and I believe the first CB (Captive Bred) in Canada.

As for the new "IT" spider. I thought there wouldn't be a spider that could top it but I came across one that I would trade both my P. Metallica's for. It's called Monocentropus Balfouri - "Blue Baboon" Slings are selling for $400 Canadian. They are gorgeous blue, really hardy, fast growing and spin incredible webs. I have never seen anything like it and I can't wait to get my hands on a pair. Sub-Adult Females are $900+

For that species for a female at this time 900 isnt too far fetched... You got slings going for a few hundred...
