it's hard to believe that I don't have a G.Rosea in my collection. one would think that everyone would have one at least, but I don't have any interest in purchasing one unless it was a last resort. when people are interested in holding any of my "docile" T's, i normally allow them to hold an A.Avic. i think they're way cooler looking anyways.

who cares? to some people it's not about having a fancy, rare or expensive spider; they're just a fun pet to have.
No kidding.

At any rate, G rosea's are still a beautiful animal. I STILL buy G Rosea's even though I have many more 'exotic' tarantulas. They're amazing t's.

Welcome to the hobby! The tank set up looks good. I agree with Spore though, maybe take just af ew rocks out to make it easier to get it. A t won't drown in that water dish. :)

What the heck is this garbage? Take your snooty "your T is too common for my superior tastes and you should agree" attitude right the heck out of this thread, buddy, nobody cares. Geez I HATE this crap, why do people do this when a newbie is happy about a new spider or looking for a new species? "BUT THAT'S DOCILE AND COMMON, DON'T GET THAT IT'S LAME." That attitude both needs and deserves a swift kick in the pants, and people who post it should be ashamed of themselves.

On the note of G. rosea size..

My G. rosea is just over a year old (know this for a fact, baby of my sister's T) and not that tiny. Much smaller than an adult, but not itsybitsyteenyweeny.

Also - G. rosea are common because they are bloody lovely.

scar is my t - dude I agree with everyone (who wouldn't!) you just don't say that to people man! Nothin but plain rude and the "no offense, but" line is just plain patronizing and arrogant!

The proper thing to say to a new hobbyist is "that's a real pretty rosie, you'll have fun with it, welcome to the hobby and the forum"

Muppet. :wall:

twas brillig - that is an AWESOME T, there are WICKED ones to have, CLASSIC, CUTE, FUNNY and HARDCORE!

The only time you'll ever see a "lame" T is when it has no legs! You Rosie is cool and so's your set up - good work and may you enjoy the hobby for many years, and buy as many "common" species as you like! {D

Really nice setup you have there! ;) I'm sure you will love your Rosehair. They have many different behaviors that still have most of the experienced keepers scratching their heads!:? You'll notice that even when it doesn't look like they are up to something, THEY ARE!:D Good luck with your new pet!

Have fun, and welcome to the hobby!!!!!

Well G. rosea is more beautifull than most "uncommon" T's atleast for me. They are great. Beautiful, docile (most of the time) and you can handle them pretty easily. And what's a T' hobby without occasional handling of a spider. :D But I think that comment from scar is my T was pretty low for a new T' keeper. ;|
Good luck with your new freaky fuzz, you'll love it. :D

Bye, Atrax

Congrats of your first T!!:D I also agree that you made a wonderful choice in buying a Chilean Rose. They are absolutely Beautiful as Adults. Cute when little too, but I personally think that any baby with 8 legs is Beyond cute.;) I will be playing the waiting game for a long while with my 3 Rosie slings. Oh well, they are worth the wait {D {D
