Thanks for all the quick responses! @Tarantuland what made you want to get an OBT first? Everyone tells me that’s a bad idea 😂
Impulse mostly, but people including the guy I bought it from keep telling me theyre not as bad as everyone says. But then when I was debating buying 4 M balfouris from him, he was saying if you got an OBT you'll be fine with these haha. I have 2 obt now, theyre really bolty and fast as slings, and I heard they get mean around 2-3". I'm just really careful because I know a bite would be bad and they are really fast but I don't get threat postured from either of mine yet. From what I understand, in the past people didn't often give them enough room to web and they'd be even grumpier. They're amazing webbers, such cool spiders.

This is why I never stick my tongue in the enclosure or near the T.
There’s always that one guy though

I’m enjoying the fact mine just molted to .5”. Jet black with a bright orange abdomen and retreats like no tomorrow. Not sure about risk at this size other than speed, but still not trying to test if it can penetrate my skin. I’m sure a bite would still yield some nasty effects.

What will make me a little anxious on the rehouse is the Fact it’s got three entrances into its burrow and it flying out during the next rehouse and a reputation for biting first and asking questions later. Not knowing where exactly it’ll be other than general location will give me night sweats, it’s like trying to break into hell on purpose. 😬.

I never intended to get an angry red head, but started to grow on me.

Yeah about that size I’m sure that’s your main concern. As long as they have ample room to get away whenever we’re pestering them with nonsense like food and water they’ll definitely utilize that first........most of the time that is.

Obt's are wonderful spiders. One of my favorites. I just wouldn't recommend them as a beginner's old world.

That being said, they are absolutely gorgeous. Their web work is fine art.

But all redheads are crazy.

I only have one C. marshalli but i would suggest looking in to them. She has been very easy to deal with.
A true sweetie.
In the end, only you know what you are comfortable with. Listen to your gut.

@EnigmaNyx Don‘t know if you are enrolled into a company medical Plan, but should be the annual open enrollment time to enroll or make changes for many companies. Pick a plan and then pick an ow that aligns to your medical coverage tier. 😁
