First Old World T

Hey there, I just bought my first Old World tarantula( Bamboo Tarantula) a little over a week ago and it still hasn’t eaten yet. I have it in a properly sized arboreal enclosure and everything. I know T’s can go a while without eating sometimes but all of my other T’s have always eaten a few days after eating so I’m just checking to see if I should be worried? Also does anyone else know much about Bamboo’s? Seems like they’re not very common. Thanks for the help in advance!

Give him time - also what is a bamboo spider? Would you know the scientific name? Maybe post a picture as well as the set-up you have him in so we can get a better idea.

Scientific name is Taksinus Bambus. Here are some pics of the enclosure as well. I believe it was discovered not too long ago. I honestly wasn’t aware of that when I purchased the T.

The enclosure looks good. Is that a moist corner and the rest of the sub is dry?

Some tarantulas can be picky eaters. I have some that refuse dubia and some who turn down hornworms. You can try mixing it up and see what they like. Wax worms seem to work well for me with stubborn T's.

I'd give them another week. I can't see the abdomen but they should be fine. Periodically check to see if they aren't hiding or their toes are sticking out. Usually means their hungry.
