My wonderful, absolutely AMAZING boyfriend won a bit of money at the casino and gave me a chunk of it. I already knew what I wanted, because we all have that species where we say, "if I ever come into some money one day..." (you know I'm right, admit it!) So I ordered 5 slings. I've wanted this species for more than a year now - fell in love the moment I saw one through the computer screen and spent the rest of the interim doing research into their care so I'd be ready. They just arrived this morning, coming literally across the entire country to get here! Anyone wanna take a guess at what they are?

I troubled just one of the poor things for a photo as I was rehousing. It was pain-free, don't worry. He was very cooperative, which I don't expect I'll have the luxury of again. :sarcasm: The rest I put straight into their homes.

Here's the link to the thread about their homes, which were also a year of tossing around ideas in the making. A lot of thought went into these: http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/sho...t-Slings-coming-tomorrow-how-s-this-enclosure

Congrats. E.olivacea yes?
If I "fell" into a large chunk there'd be pretty little C.hoggi and P.ultramarinus peering back at me. :3

Great species. They love to spin and are eager eaters. Grow relatively fast. There's a paper on their habitat online, check it out.

I think I've read every article and website there is on these guys. Wish there was more to read...

Congratulations! You've inspired me, I may have to purchase at least a couple of my own holy grail.

Congrats on getting your dream spider, I would like to get one of these little guys but I am going to be picking up my own holy grail an A. sp Kwitara soon so I have to hold off.

Haha, I just got 3 of my own E. olivacea today too! I am beyond happy and grinning from ear to ear. Not to mention, they are also my first African species so I am excited about that. They are already webbing up a storm and I could stare at the gold for hours...

I've enjoyed mine so far. I've got 6, but I've only had them for around 3 weeks. Three are showing color, three are not. Congratulations.

Thanks so much for sharing my excitement (or at least tolerating it -lol-) To anyone who has this species: if you have any tips/tricks/ or anecdotes that are not common on the interwebs, please PM me!
