It's a Florida thing. I see them all the time down here, just rarely inside.
I also caught (well, Jess gets the credit here) a spiderling of our jumbo crab spiders! It's transparent, but looks just like the 4" adults. I'm having trouble finding food for it, but I'm sure something will turn up (if my fruit flies ever hatch!).
