I was thinkin' about fireflies too as a matter of fact..thought "That glowjuice can't be good for the preds that eat it" What I'd like is a huge, fat, big, caterpillar to give her..that would be something to see her eat:}
I'd be cautious with caterpillars as well. I once fed a green caterpillar to one of my "pet" Black Widows and it died within days. Could have been a coincidence, or maybe a different Sp. of caterpillar? :confused:

I thought you were saying ladybugs were good for plants but were not predators:eek:

Keep in mind OP that when feeding wild caught prey to your t there's more to consider than just pesticides. There's also the risk of introducing a parasite or disease to the t doing the eating and possibly your whole collection.

Be safe

I've concidered everything that everybody said and am thinking along the lines of Better safe than sorry as was said..I'm gonna stick to the captive bred feeders and maybe I'll start a colony of horn worms but not feed them to my T for a generation or 2..thanks for all the helpful advice..:cool:

While I'm sure the T would love a june bug and it would add variety to their diet, I would not chance it because of the pesticide issue. June bugs are a common lawn pest and while your friends don't spray they may be flying in from a yard where they do spray.
