OTOH, so long as they've Jeff Probst and Mark Burnett at the helm, I'll keep on watching Survivor. It's incredibly well done and much more interesting than the best professional sports.

I like Fear Factor sometimes. Like on Valentines day last year, they had couples that had to transfer as many roaches from one heart shaped bowl to another heart shaped bowl.... using thier mouths!! I couldn't stop laughing when one guy almost hurled right into his wifes mouth!!!=D Could you imagine how thier love life is gonna be after THAT??? They will forever envision roaches in each others mouths, is that a romance killer or what!?!=D

I didn't see the tarantula thing but if they want it to be a real "Fear Factor" maybe they should try it with 1 or 2 T blondis, H lividums or even an OBT instead of a bucket of Roseas. Then they can say it was real FEAR!!;P

Yes, because this wild idea has so many actual facts behind it.

In season one they staged some underwater shots to go with the actual footage of a swimming challenge - the fallout from that meaningless bit of trickery was severe and they've made a point to sticking to the actual footage from that point out.

Now, if you mean they edit the bejesus out of it to make 72 hours worth of footage into an interesting 1 hour story, sure, that's what any bit of "reality" show does. Doesn't change the fact that it is unscripted and that it's still many times more interesting than sports because of the psychological issues behind it.

Unless you have something but your unsubstantiated opinion, leave the slamming of a good show for another thread.

Then what if they are scared and bite the contestants or something. That person would become afraid of T's if they aren't all ready.
First of all, they always use those man eating roseas, which will never ever bite anyone ever. Secondly, if the contestants do get bitten, they deserve it.

Hmm....

I saw the show as well, and what I can't understand is why didn't any of the T's attack eachother or bite the contestants? I know they have used similar stunts with G. Roseas before this as well and I have always been curious as to the danger of this. Does anyone know how they pull this off without injury?

I wonder where they got them, who would let them use them for this purpose, and what will they do with them after the show??:? :(
They called me up a few months ago looking for 500 G. roseas. I was actually pretty surprised (it's not every day someone calls you up and says "Hi, this is Fear Factor. We're interested in buying blah blah blah." The woman was nice and I think she expected me to be happy about it. After all, it's not every day someone calls up offering to buy that many spiders. I told her I wasn't interested and she sounded surprised, hesitated, etc. I told her I didn't agree with the idea of what they were going to do with them. She said "okay" and thanked me (again, very nice, still surprised) and hung up. So I imagine the answer is anyone who cares about the money more than the animals. And I believe they either sell or give them back to the supplier when they're done.
