Ah, Fear Factor. Where's Bin Laden when we really need him?

Ooooh I couldnt stand to watch that and I would be worried about the tarantulas that could be hurt by falling or the people throwing them off of them. Poor little babies! Then what if they are scared and bite the contestants or something. That person would become afraid of T's if they aren't all ready. They should dump wasps on them, thays even scarier. Then they can turn a horde of scorpions loose and crawling on the floor in the room after that. That could be scarey too.

One of them was complaining about urticating hairs. Boo Hoo, you have to deal with itching while some animals, who are harmless, might have died.

WTF is that? they had like 30-40 rosies in a bucket with a bunch of crickets like 50 or more... then they do these closeups to make the t look all scary and stuff! i bet you EVERYONE who watched that is scared silly of t's now..

now i'm wondering why the rosies wheren't attacking each other considering they're not communal and on top of things there was noise, vibrations, breezes, etc... ??i'm suprised non bit the girls??

and also that makes me believe my theory is true unless they cut all the t's fangs off prior to this but even so the t's showed no aggresion at all... my theory, which i've mentioned before on this forum, is that a t with no burrow, home, anything to defend, and all these people, sounds, lights (kinda like in a pet shop), etc.. they feel vulnerable and do not attack or anything simply from the vulnerable they feel.. the t's where just dumped all together like a bucked of garbage and they would walk around all slow and not even attack the crickets...

damn fear factor eh?

I watched it tonight. I wasn't really surprised that they dumped the tarantula's out of a bucket with no concern for the tarantulas. I was however a little disappointed.

I wonder where they got them, who would let them use them for this purpose, and what will they do with them after the show??:? :(

Anyone besides me sick of all the people who find it trendy to bash *all* reality tv without actually having watched any of it to realise that it's not all created equal?

Fear Factor is incredibly bad LCD programming without a bit of intelligence or wit.

OTOH, so long as they've Jeff Probst and Mark Burnett at the helm, I'll keep on watching Survivor. It's incredibly well done and much more interesting than the best professional sports.

And American Idol, I know it's been lumped in with the reality TV by the mass media, but it's a variety show, we've had those for over half a century.

I didn't and wouldn't watch it. Too bad they are teaching viewers how to be cruel to animals. Just because its not illegal to pour salt on a slug, doesn't mean its not a crime against nature.

Possibly the Ts were refrigerated to slow down their metabolism.

The show apparently has no redeeming qualities...so why watch?

I'll take the unpopular stance and admit that I love Fear Factor. I'm not too fond of the eating live inverts or other such stunts, but I'd love to be on the show just to get to do some of the physical stunts. Having said all of that, due to a busy work schedule, business schedule AND raising a 7-year old daughter, I rarely get to watch anything on TV at all. I'm often amused at the fact that I bought a 35" TV so my daugter could watch Cartoon Network... or at least it seems that way.

I'm not a big TV watcher, but there are some shows that I love. In my personal opinion, the Amazing Race is the best reality show ever created (can't wait for season 4, woohoo!). I also watched the first Joe Millionaire and enjoyed it, it's amazing how many women out there really are money hungry.

As for Survivor, it's not my cup of tea. I watched it once or twice but couldn't really get into it. I think the episode I watched was the one where they cut a cow and drained some blood into a glass, which the contestants then had to drink.

I did watch Fear Factor tonight, but only because I saw a preview with T's and wanted to see. I personally would have hated to have to suck up all that cricket slop.

The thing that bothers me about Fear Factor isn't so much their fault as it is the fault of PETA. The age old fuzzy cute stuff is good and other things are bad mentality prevails. They don't mind a bit when spiders or snakes are dropped and handled roughly but if they were to make them put their head in a bag full of cats and shake it up that would be a different story.

My only problem with Fear Factor itself is the endless stream of wussie competetors. Stack a pile of cash like they get in front of me and I would happily eat or do whatever it took to win rather than crying about how scary or gross it was.

I'm still waiting to see them eat a steaming pile o crap. To me that should be a requirement and I'm dissappointed that Rogan said they would and never did. Even better how about a big steamer with a hair in it. :)

I did not intend to see that show at all, but started surfing the channels and it came on right as they were dumping the roseas
on one girl. At least they had them wear goggles to protect their eyes. I'm with dirtyduck, who would allow them to have all those tarantulas to do this? I would have been upset by the crickets crawling on me more. Maybe they knew the temperment of these tarantulas and didn't include any of the psycho rosies.

No offense but we're talking about bugs here. I like T's as much as the next person but I'm not going to fret about squashing a roach just because somebody, somewhere thinks they're cute. Just for curiosity's sake, wouldn't taking a shower be considered a crime against nature? Think of all the helpless germs that get destroyed, not to mention the herds of microscopic livestock that get washed down the drain. :?
