Does the stirmi grab and eat them all at once?

With a vengeance. It takes a lot to fill a 9-10" spider. I've got several recently-molted females I'll be pairing up soon.

I picked up a few 2nd instar stirmi slings, they are so cute. Especially considering what huge monsters they'll grow up to be.

That would be quite the feeding spectacle....good luck with the pairing.....how big is a 2 instar stirmi, 3/4"?

Oh Wow. That's fast for a T that big! So they're well on their ways to needed playpens!
They're eating well! ;)

These Ts grow pretty quick no?

I give most of my adults 5 to 6 crickets, and my adult female stirmi 10-12 crickets at a time.
I figured a Theraphosa would top the list. I usually give the L.p.s about 4-6 to be safe. I don't want to overfeed for my,amusement. But they certainly like stuffing their mouths.

It is. They dive on them and scoop up as many as they can. Individually, crickets are a snack size to them. At 2nd instar they're over an inch. They're starting to molt to 3rd instar; I'll have to measure one.

I mean yeah but my juvie molts in about that time period, maybe slightly less. She's definitely not deprived either Lol.

My favorite to feed is my Nhandu Chromatus because it has never refused a meal, even right before a molt and it gets the crickets so quick you can blink and miss it. My least favorite (I know no one asked but I figured i mention it anyway) is my H. lividum because I never see it eat since it's always in its hole. I just have to throw in a cricket and hope for the best.
