I was just wondering what your favorite avic would be if you had to choose. Personally I like all of them, but the purple of the purpurea, the white tips on the metallica (or avic m6 I think), and the adult pattern of the minatrix are my favorites. Sadly I own none of these, but hopefully that will change soon, I think I'll pick up a minatrix.

Minatrix is a very nice spider, but Caribena are the better Avics imo😂

Not counting caribena lol, I get the appeal and will own one in the future, but they kinda look like the clowns of the tarantula world.

Kwitara river, green tarantulas make me feel something deep inside
I love those too, completely forgot about them

A. Minatrix is pretty cool, I hardly see mine, it’s one of the most reclusive IMO. Kwitara is my favorite, mine happened to molt a fee days ago. Purpurea is my slowest growing Avicularia, but very stunning. And Avicularia Avicularia M6 is pretty. Then of course C. versicolor never disappoints.

I love all the Avicularia's in general (even the Ex. avics such as Caribena, etc.). But if I had to choose just within the Avicularia genus, It'll have to probably be the A. avicularia Morphtype #2 (Ex. A. braunshauseni) and maybe A. purpea. Sadly, they're known to be slow growers from what I hear. But I'm not a Avic expert, which is why I tend to stay away from them until I'm more confident of identifying them more properly. Even with many ID guides, I still feel nervous about possible improper ID besides the common A. avic, unless I trust the source I buy my T.'s from.

Big jealous, how big is it now?

I was always told avics grew like weeds, was pretty surprised at the slow growth rate of my purpurea

Although I have never owned either, my favorite looking is:
Kwitara river
Avicularia Rufa

eventually I will own them.

That kinda sucks, I thought they were less reclusive.

Avicularia juronesis morphotype #2 formerly peru purple.

They check all the boxes...for avics, they are some of the best eaters, fastest growers and get the largest. They are also the purpliest avic, and having the white tipped setae like a A. avic mt#6 (metallica) make them IMO, one of the most beautiful species I have seen.

All my faves had been transferred out of the genus. Gotta think about this.
