How to slim down to fat tarantula ?
I got 2 really fat spiders . previous owner (breeder and seller) did feed them to much . Powerfeeding 4+ or 5 inch spider ? i dont know why .... L. klugi abdomen looks almost like big juicy plum .
I did not feed her at all in my care so far . (close to one month) She did slim down maybe bit but still looks to fat .
So what to do ? Give her only water ? Or still some food is needed to keep "juices flowing"
She is fairly active , explores enclosure when i open it . And she likes to kick hairs .

Same story with B.albiceps , but she is comepletly flegmatic .

Just don't feed them for a while. If they don't show any pre molt signs in the next few weeks try offering smaller prey items.

Holding off on food seems obvious. Were you thinking an exercise regimen or liposuction?

So I don't need to put in a hamster wheel then? :p

All joking aside, the great thing about tank dwellers is that they don't beg for food or pinch food off your plate etc, you are in complete control, just don't feed them for a little bit. These guys can go quite a while without a meal providing you provide water of course.

Btw. a 4 or 5" L. klugi should be fat - she should be growing a lot with the next molt, so she'll need some reserves to do that.
