Hi, I have been keeping pet rats (two females) for approximately two weeks, Anyways they are about eight weeks old. Both of them are friendly and are doing well. That been said I still can't think of a name for either of them. My friends call them various names but I don't really like either of them... except one or two but I want to hear more names to choose from before I make my final name.
Here are some pictures of them.

My rattie combo is Poodah and Stinkarella... boy and a girl :D

Your two girlies are really cute!!

Why not Thelma and Louise?
or Petunia and Poppy... Daisy? or Lilac?
Katia and Marielle?
Zsa Zsa and Eva?
Cagney and Lacey?
Akona (to teach) and Aroha (Love) or Arona (colorful) ...names in Maori
Violet and Patty... best friends on Charlie Brown
Lucy and Sally... Linus' and Charlie Brown's sisters

Some of the names I picked came from this site...

Thanks all the replies, As for naming the rats, I already have my two dogs named after a famous couple...

My friend keeps insisting I name them Hubert and Jurgis.... There great names (hes watching me write) but I can't imagine calling them that forever...

Keep the names coming, also the names can be boy or girl names... :p

Congratulations!
I love rats. They are so sweet and smart! It's too heartbreaking that they only live about two years. I couldn't take loosing them so quickly so I don't keep anymore.
But good luck with your two.
My recent names have been pretty normal, Little Man and Norman, Daphne and Alice, but my very first was a big agouti boy I named Plague. I had a friend with two named Subway and Sewer.

Thanks, yeah It is horrible they don't live long... and I have found a solution to short lived pets.... In the future, when I have my own house I am going to probably get three 20 gallon tanks and keep a few males in one tank and a few females in the other and the third tank will be for breeding, So when one generation ends there is a new generation just getting started... ofcourse I will have to work it all out when the times comes, but for now thats my basic plan.

As for names, Here are some my sister suggested, Panda for the one with black spots and Carmel for the one with tan spots, Panda sounds good to me for the one with black spots but Carmel is pushing it =P

Thanks for replies,
keep names coming

I have two ratties too! I named mine Seabiscuit and Cheez-It. I cant suggest any names, because it took me many weeks to think of names until I found something that fit, let alone fitting someone elses pets. They are soooo fun though. My Seabiscuit somehow escaped her cage during the night, I woke up to find her tugging at my nose urging me to play with her. Cute.

Very cute! I wish I wouldn't have snakes or I would get some... wait! No I want my snakes! But I want rats too! Forget that wish... I don't wanna wish it! :D

My suggestion: Ulf and Bior, ancient nordic for wolf and bear.

Thanks for all the replies :)

As for naming it... I have seen many good names posted, I am still thinking it over, I am trying to find a name that relates in some way to there coloration. So far the one with black spots is being called panda for now but the one with tan spots still remains nameless...

Here are some more pictures,
Enjoy

Does your dark hooded one really have an arrow shape at the tail end of the hood? That's how it looks in that photo. That is sooo cute!{D

lol, only different is whomever is being fed the rats in this picture will soon meet a nasty surprise. Their bite is really really painful and if it goes to an invert if it gets the first bite even in the end if the rat is eaten your still left with an injury on your pet sometimes bad enough to cause death. As for Reptiles I personally would think people would start feeding them frozen.

I agree, the risks are too high.
But also, I think mice and rats have too much personality for that! :D I love my little squeakers

How 'bout Puma for the tan, it's sporty
