There's an ad on craigslist (one month old) I've messaged the poster about inquiring on the rehoming fee and haven't heard back from the person yet.

I have a trinadad chevron and curly hair tarantula will come with setup rehoming fee
In the pictures, the B. albopilosum looks to be in a regular tank, probably 10 gal. with barely any dirt in the bottom. The P. cambridgei might be in an exo terra of some sort. In the picture there's a rippling shadow which reminds me of the venting along the front of those enclosures. It looks rather skinny. No idea on genders.

I'm pretty good on what's a reasonable expense for the curly, but having poked around online and knowing what they go for at the LPS, but have no idea on what to expect for the Chevron. Both spiders appear to be sub-adult/adult in size (nothing in pics for size reference, but both display adult characteristics). Can someone give me an idea on the average price of a Trinidad Chevron?

Would also have to drive 2.5 hours to go pick them up.

Of course, knowing the craigslist around here, I probably can't afford either. Rose hairs with set-up (ie: 10 gal. with sand in the bottom and toilet paper roll hides; surprisingly a nice rock water dish) go for $100. :greedy: But it never hurts to ask.

If the cam is in the 5" range, and male, it will either be mature, or penultimate. Ventrally you should be able to tell if its good sized.

Cams aren't an expensive t...easily bred and popular (because they are the best)...so they are, like the albo, a readily available, inexpensive, yet desirable t....Females as adults tend to run anywhere from $50-60 on the very low end and as much as $100 on the high end...I would consider anything under $75 to be a good price for a female....a male would be worth about $40 to a breeder once mature...so if its male, shoot for that.

Well, looks like this wasn't meant to be. The listing expired and I never got a reply to inquires. Oh well!

Y'all were getting me excited for that P. cambridgei. I'll have to keep an eye out and maybe acquire one later down the road.

Thanks for the help!

Your profile says that you're in the US... Petsmart sells rosies for cheaper than what you're talking about. You could have one shipped to you overnight for cheaper than that.

Yeah, but Craigslist people in most areas have a tendency to act like their Ts/enclosures are made out of pure gold. That's why Craigslist listings are often worth checking out but rarely worth acting on.

Indeed. I could buy two rosies and still have some funds leftover for cages for each after buying them from the local ma & pa place. But Tia B nailed it: folks on the local CL act like their Ts lay golden eggs and so actually acquiring one is not always worth the venture. Went out on a limb this time to see if it was worth the pair of spiders, but I'll never know if they were interested in a more realistic value for the Ts, or wanting gold plated prices for their spiders since I never got a reply. Most of the time the price is in the ad, but this one wasn't. *shrug*
