Are males the only gender that has them ? Because today I when I fed spooky my G. rosea. It ate them all at once as usual and started spinning web as usual. Well its spinnerets were working I saw very clearly a extra set just beneath but they were smaller. Has anyone eve seen a female with these ?

I've never heard of any spinerette difference in males and females. You think something like that would be talked about as a way to sex T's.

All T's have that small pair of spinnerettes below the larger ones. Sometimes you can see it, sometimes not. The male only ones are almost microscopic and reside near where the abdomen meets the cephalothorax on the underside.

Thanks for the info. I did read that it could be used to sex T,s on some site. But I wanted to ask you guys instead of taking there word. Well I will continue to wait on a molt and I'll try to get a decent digital camera before hand. Thanks again guys.
