I've had my tailless whip scorpion for a month now and it's seemed fine, and now it's doing something that worries me. I've never seen it do this until last night, it's keeping its pedipalps a bit open for no apparent reason for unknown amounts of time until it gets disturbed and starts doing it again eventually. I noticed in the past it would pick at its fangs with its pedipalps a bit often, don't know if that has anything to do with this. 20250408_174959.jpg

I personally observe this in my amblys a decent amount, and im pretty sure it’s just normal “relaxed” behavior. Nothing to worry about. As for it picking at its mouth, it’s just grooming.

Mine do it all the time too, just relaxing and grooming.

They quite often sit with their palps open when waiting for prey - it may be hungry!
