My Euathlus sp red "Floof" likes to go adventuring. she was hanging upside down on the lid (and then fell, after which she went climbing again). I know E. reds are adventurous so I was wondering if this is safe enough.

enclosure height is 11cm (about 3'), width 20cm (8"), and length 15cm (6").
She is about 2" or 6cm dls. Lowest point of the enclosure: 5cm substrate, 6cm between lid and sub

Nice name aha. My gf A. metallica is called Smol Floof.

1.5x the legspan of specimen from top of enclosure to the sub is fine.

I love how advenrurous most small NW are. :)

Mesh lids can be tricky though. Is has the enclosure got that?

I thought maybe the space between lid and sub is too much considering her climbing tendencies, so I raised the sub by 3 cm, now she can stand on the side with her full length, but not fall.

Also: she walked into the catchcup by herself. and i had to nudge her out with paintbrush. She went and grabbed the brush and started climbing it XD silly Floof.

Well, she started the climb the paintbrush, she just wants to have fun i guess :p.

You can see the substrate i added: 20161111_000130.jpg
Its darker because i keep my substrate (eco earth) in a plastic bag in a cooler part of the house, its not wet by any means.

your sub level was fine before and is fine now. its mainly a worry with larger specimens.

I would agree it was fine before. Its not the falling that does the damage its the height an couple inch or so wont do much damage.
