My ruflilata was ridiculously easy to move. I put her old and new cases face to face with the doors open and brush prodded her from one to the other. She was so mellow and relaxed it was shocking to me. Note: Your results may differ.

I watched a couple of videos that also went very calmly and smoothly. This particular spider I saw react very much when the guy I got her from showed her to me. But this guy also has VERY shaky hands on the best day. It’s a medical thing. So all his spiders (most of which are now mine) were spooked when he would try to look at them. This one is in a lower tub like a terrestrial would be kept right now, so it has a lift off top, no doors. I plan on putting everything in the shower with the door closed when I do this move 😆. Just in case.

yes, we always do them in a multilayer defense set up so there are multiple stops to escape. My daughter and I rehoused the Rufilata, a P Regalis and a C Versicolor all in the same afternoon this summer past. The versicolor was the crankiest. The 2 Pokies were pretty easy. Will the present tub fit inside your future enclosure? IF so, just set the tub in and take the lid off, the Pokie will take care of the rest. After it finds its new digs behind the hide, you can remove the old tub

The only way it will fit is if it’s tipped up. So my current plan is to let her hide under her bark which is at one end of the box, and while she’s under there, gently scoop out most of the substrate up to the front of that bark. This way I can tip it up without that all spilling down over her, then hold the lid so the bottom is open and slowly lift the bark from the top will long tongs. Hopefully she’ll walk or run out the open space into the new enclosure. At least that’s the “plan”.
