Here is a picture of Squids soon to be permanent home..

I have not quite finished it just yet.. I still have to add some more substrate & some other decor..

Just thought I would show what I have so far..

I actually desided to not use the lid like Robc has made.. Mostly because I dont think I am skilled enough to drill the holes and not crack the lid.. I am sure it would be easier if I did it a few times.. But I would rather not try.. Maybe later on down the line when I gt more setups like this I will give it a try..

I am also thinking of doing fake plants and not use live ones.. But I will see what happens later...

*Edit* Sorry for placing this in the TQ&D section.. I wasnt even paying attention! Sorry!!

Thanks! :D I am actually trying to mimic Rob's design a little.. :D Though I doubt it will be as nice.. Since I wont have the back drop & live plants.. I beleive I am almost done with it.. {D I just got to add some leaves here and there.. I cant home him in it untill I go and get the lid I want to use.. But I can set it to the side and wait for Squid to harden up for a couple more days..

Yea thats a snakes head in the corner.. I was holding my Mom's red tail boa.. :D

What kind of a lid are you using?

Redneck-

What kind of lid are you putting on that? I attempted to make a Robc lid and it turned out all right. The plexiglass started to crack a little, but I didn't use as thick of plexiglass that Robc does. Other than that it wasn't too terrrible. I didn't have any tools to cut the ends of the screws off with so I just put hot glue all over the screws so the T doesn't injure itself on them. Also one of the screws on the handle didn't go in right the first time, so it's kind of cock-eyed. I was just wondering what kind of lid you are using because if there is a cheaper/easier lid to make I would like to know. Thanks... Here is a pic of the lid I made.

Here are a couple shots of it now... I just got more moss and substrate..

From the back to the front the substrate is 6'' grated down to 3.5'' - 4''.. I still need to add leaves and what not.. So its still not done..

And here is the lid I am thinking about using.. I still might try Rob's lid.. But I am still tossing that aroung in my head.. But this is what I am thinking of going with..

Again I am still in debate over the lid..

Wow... I feel like an idiot...lol... I have that same exact lid and never thought about using it for an arboreal set up. Besides the viewing not being that great you would still be able to see in the sides of the tank, and the only time you would have to take the lid off is to clean, because you can put food in those holes where the plastic caps some out. That is an awesome idea, and a heck of a lot cheaper than buying the stuff for the plexiglass lid and less time consuming.

Yea it is alot less time consuming.. It locks on all 4 sides.. I might go with that lid.. But I dont know for sure yet..

I would put in some sort of platform, if it were mine.. and lots, lots (lots, did I mention lots) more leaves... so you'd have to be like.. wait, is this an empty tank or is there really a T amongst all those leaves? LOL

Are you gonna be putting Leggs into a 10g as well?

Lucky Ts!

The tank looks awesome... I can't wait until all my slings grow up so I can give them some incredible looking setups.

that looks like a lot of spaces in the lid for the T to get a leg caught in... just my 2 cents.

What species are you going to be keeping in this enclosure?

I ask, because the wood you have in there has bark on it, so if it is a humid loving species; that might not be a good match. If you 'mist' your enclosures, be sure to avoid spraying that wood directly; as we have found that wood with bark, molds easier. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be used, just that you have to take added precautions to prevent the mold. If you stick to wetting the substrate and not 'misting' than the probability of mold goes down.:)
